Dog Grooming
Chicago Near You
City dogs live active lives. Between morning walks on busy sidewalks, romps at the dog park, and the general grime of urban adventures, your pup deserves grooming that goes beyond a quick bath. At Happy Tails & Trails, our professional dog grooming services keep Chicago dogs looking sharp, smelling fresh, and feeling comfortable in their own coat.
Professional Dog Grooming in River North and the West Loop
For over 24 years, Happy Tails & Trails has been a family-owned cornerstone of Chicago’s dog care community. Founded in 2001 by Angelica Iga, we’ve grown from a solo dog walking operation into two specialized facilities serving Lincoln Park, South Loop, Streeterville, and neighborhoods throughout the city. Our A+ BBB rating speaks to decades of trust built one happy pup at a time.
Our lead groomer, Nicole Garcia, brings breed-specific expertise that Chicago dog owners rely on. Whether your Goldendoodle needs a teddy bear cut, your Poodle requires a precise continental clip, or your double-coated Husky is blowing their undercoat all over your South Loop apartment, Nicole understands the techniques each breed demands. Her direct line, 773-905-4559, connects you straight to someone who knows your dog’s coat.
Local Dog Groomers Who Understand City Pups
Living in Chicago means your dog encounters things suburban pups never face. Salt-treated winter sidewalks, puddles of questionable origin, and construction debris all take a toll on coats and paws. Our grooming services address urban realities with thorough cleaning, conditioning, and attention to details that keep city dogs healthy.
At our 1613 W. Walnut St location, we offer full-service grooming for dogs of all sizes. Our 1 W Superior St facility caters to dogs under 35 pounds, providing an intimate setting where smaller breeds receive focused attention. Both locations feature climate-controlled grooming stations and the same meticulous standards that have defined our reputation for over two decades.

Non-Sedation Teeth Cleaning in Lincoln Park
Beyond coat care, we offer a specialized service most local dog groomers don’t provide: cosmetic teeth cleaning using a sonic scaler, all without sedation. Tartar buildup affects more than your dog’s breath. It can lead to gum disease, tooth decay, and systemic health issues. Our non-sedation approach means your dog stays awake and comfortable throughout, avoiding the risks and recovery time associated with anesthesia.
The Convenience of All Services Under One Roof
Chicago professionals juggle packed schedules, and coordinating separate appointments for daycare, grooming, and training eats into precious time. At Happy Tails & Trails, our all-in-one model simplifies pet care. Drop your dog at daycare in the morning, and they can receive grooming services during their stay. Pick them up tired, happy, and freshly styled without an extra trip across town.
For our boarding guests, we include a free bath with stays of four nights or longer, ensuring your dog comes home from their vacation looking as refreshed as they feel. And for regular grooming clients, our loyalty program rewards consistency: buy five baths and receive your sixth free. These aren’t gimmicks but genuine appreciation for the families who trust us with their dogs year after year.
